Chris Mullaly

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Chris Mullaly is co-founder and Managing Partner at Spirus. 

Chris is an experienced Investment Banker, with particular prowess in the real estate, healthcare and technology industries. During his investment banking tenure, he has consummated more than $30 billion in transaction volume and has forged relationships with several of the more prominent names in the industry.

He began his career with Barclays Investment Bank in the Global Healthcare and Real Estate Group. Following this, he worked with Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (“WCAS”) as an Investor. WCAS is a private equity firm that has invested roughly $60 billion since its inception in 1979 into the healthcare and technology industries.

After this, Chris was the VP/Head of Finance and acting Board Member with Emerus — a healthcare portfolio company of WCAS — and successfully led the company through a restructuring and reorganization. Chris is an active Angel Investor, Board Advisor and Founder of Quantum Angels, a private investment firm focused on pre-seed and seed-stage healthcare, technology, AI, DeFi, IOT and social impact businesses.

Chris routinely mentors and provides guidance to young and aspiring founders and first time business owners as a way to give back to the venture ecosystem and finds this aspect of his work particularly rewarding.

Chris received his BS in Finance from Boston College, Wallace E. Carroll School of Management.

Jeff Santoro

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Jeff Santoro is co-founder and Managing Partner at Spirus. 

Jeff is focused on debt and equity placement for commercial real estate, healthcare, telecom and technology firms. His clients value his ability to quickly identify the proper source of capital for a given project, his creative approach to structuring transactions and the depth of his relationships with capital markets participants of various profiles.

Jeff spent 15 years working with best-in-class institutional capital markets firms. During his tenure he has consummated over $20BN in transaction volume, lead-banking over $3BN in structured debt products. He began his career in real estate investment banking for RBS Greenwich Capital and Credit Suisse. Subsequently, he worked in capital markets on the structured products trading desk at Jefferies. After this, Jeff was a Director with LoanCore Capital, a privately held asset management firm focused on commercial real estate credit sponsored by GIC and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.

Jeff graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a BA in Economics and holds an MBA in Real Estate, Finance and Management from NYU Stern. He possesses Series 63, 82 and 79 licenses with FINRA.
